Welcome to the new MTOA website. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new layout. You will find that all of the old content exists on our new site. We have integrated the MTOA LiveUpdates with the main site in such a way that each new bulletin appears on the front page readily visible at first glance. You can see Recent Bulletins simply scrolling down or visiting the RECENT BULLETIN area of the site to the right. If you have any questions or concerns, please use the CONTACT link located at the top right of the page.

MTOA Staff

Hostage Negotiators

In recognition the significant role that Hostage Negotiators play in the tactical environment, the MTOA recently voted to allow officers who hold the special certification to join our ranks. Lt. Mark Little with the Southaven Police Department has been appointed to direct this branch of MTOA. He can be reached at 662-393-8652. If you have questions about basic or advanced training, or starting a unit at your department, contact Lt. Little. For full-time law enforcement officers interested in becoming certified negotiators, the FBI sponsors training in Mississippi and surrounding states several times a year. Contact the FBI Jackson Field Office at 601-948-5000 for information on upcoming classes.

If you are a certified Hostage Negotiator and would like to join our organization and take part in our training events, complete a new membership application and forward it to the secretary/treasurer.
